Phase 1 reclamation was taken place in 2010 chartering one of the biggest dredger world, owned by Boskalis International BV. The phase 1 reclamation process was observed by the His excellency President Mohamed Nasheed and the Ambassador of the Netherlands to the Maldives, Mrs Leoni Margaretha Cuelenaere and the Government delegation visited the dredger “ queen of Netherlands” while the dredging and reclamation process was in action. The reclamation is completed in 3 days.
